Protection Options

At Freedom Wheels Car Rentals, we want you to enjoy your trip with complete peace of mind. Every rental includes basic insurance coverage, and we offer additional protection options that can significantly reduce or eliminate your financial responsibility in the event of damage or loss. Understanding your protection options helps you choose the level of coverage that best suits your travel plans.

Included Insurance

All rental vehicles include third-party liability insurance, which covers damage or injury caused to other people, vehicles, or property in the event of an accident.

This coverage is required by law and is included in the price of your rental.

Please note that this coverage does not protect the rental vehicle itself. Protection packages listed below are available to reduce your financial responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle.

Standard Protection - Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) + Fire & Theft

Standard Protection reduces your financial responsibility if the rental vehicle is damaged in a collision or affected by fire or theft.
This option is ideal for travelers who want basic protection while still maintaining a lower daily rental cost.

SUV / 4x4 Vehicles                  $17 per day

Customer Liability: If damage occurs while this protection is selected, the renter’s maximum responsibility is limited to:
Collision damage: up to $750 USD
Fire or theft: up to $1,000 USD

Damage exceeding these amounts will be handled through the vehicle’s insurance coverage.

Not Included

Standard Protection does not cover certain components of the vehicle, including: Tires, Windscreen, Interior damage.

These items may be protected by an optional add-on listed below.

Premium Protection - Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) + Fire & Theft

Premium Protection provides the most comprehensive level of protection available and significantly reduces your financial responsibility for damage or loss.

This option is recommended for travelers who prefer complete peace of mind during their trip.

Customer Liability: When Premium Protection is selected, the renter’s liability for the following events is reduced to:

Collision damage: $0
Fire damage: $0
Vehicle theft: $0

This protection eliminates most out-of-pocket expenses related to accidental damage to the rental vehicle.

Young Driver Liability Notice

Drivers aged 21–24 are subject to a higher insurance deductible in the event of damage, loss, or theft of the rental vehicle. The renter may be responsible for costs up to $2,775 USD, depending on the circumstances.  Selecting a protection package may significantly reduce or eliminate this financial responsibility.
Premium Protection is recommended for drivers under 25.

Tyre, Windscreen & Interior Protection (Add-on)

Certain parts of a vehicle are often excluded from standard protection packages because they are more susceptible to minor damage during normal driving conditions.

For additional protection, renters may choose the Tire, Windscreen & Interior Protection add-on.

Price:
$6 per day

Covers:
Tire damage, Windscreen chips or cracks, Interior damage such as upholstery stains or minor interior damage.

When this option is selected, the renter’s liability for these components is reduced to $0.

Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is required at the start of every rental. The deposit must be provided using a valid credit card in the renter’s name.

The deposit amount depends on the protection option selected:

No Protection Selected                                 $1,800 USD

The deposit is held for the duration of the rental and released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, provided no additional charges apply.

The deposit may be used to cover: Vehicle damage not covered by protection packages, Traffic fines, Missing fuel, Late return fees, Missing equipment or accessories.

Important Notes

Protection packages reduce the renter’s financial responsibility but do not cover damage resulting from:

Reckless or dangerous driving
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Unauthorized drivers
Violations of the rental agreement
