Rental Requirements

At Freedom Wheels Car Rentals, we want your car rental experience to be safe and hassle-free. Please review the following requirements carefully before booking your rental.

Meeting these requirements is necessary for all renters and authorized drivers.

1. Driver Age Requirements

The primary driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
Drivers aged 21–24 are permitted to rent but may be subject to additional insurance requirements and a higher security deposit.
In the event of damage, loss, or theft of the rental vehicle, drivers aged 21–24 may also be subject to a higher insurance deductible, which may be up to $2,775 USD depending on the circumstances.  Optional protection packages are available to reduce or eliminate the renter’s financial responsibility, depending on the protection option selected.
Age restrictions or additional requirements may vary depending on the type of vehicle selected.

2. Valid Driver’s License

All drivers must present a valid driver’s license issued in their home country.

International visitors may also be required to obtain a temporary St. Lucia driving permit.

Learner’s permits or provisional licenses are not accepted.

The license must be presented at the time of vehicle pickup.

3. Credit Card Requirement

A valid credit card in the renter’s name is required for all rentals.

The credit card will be used to hold the security deposit for the rental and any additional charges incurred.

Debit cards may be accepted in certain cases with prior approval, but additional requirements or a higher security deposit may apply.

4. Authorized Drivers

Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.

Additional drivers may be added with prior approval and may be subject to additional fees.

Each additional driver must meet all rental requirements, including age and license.

5. Identification

A valid passport or national ID card is required in addition to your driver’s license for all foreign renters.

Identification must match the name on the booking and credit card used.

6. Booking Eligibility

Rentals are available to individuals, couples, and families who meet the above requirements.

Groups or organizations may need to provide additional documentation or authorization for larger bookings.

7. Special Notes

Renters are responsible for familiarizing themselves with local driving laws in Saint Lucia.

Failure to meet these requirements may result in the rental being denied at pickup.
